Monica Sher, MD

A woman wearing a black and white dress with a stethoscope around her neck.

Dr.Monica Sher was born and raised in the beautiful sunshine state of Florida. She devoted most of her childhood and adolescence to being a competitive figure skater and achieved the award of double gold medalist in figure skating. She completed her Chemistry Education Bachelor’s degree at Florida Atlantic University.

She then dedicated herself to medicine, completing her Medical Doctorate degree at the American University of Integrative Sciences and her Internal Medicine Residency at Oak Hill Hospital near Tampa. Her exceptional skills as a resident led to her selection as Chief Medical Resident during her final year in residency, and she is American Board certified in Internal Medicine.

She is also a Board member of “Debbies Dream Foundation,” which raises funds and awareness for stomach cancer.

Richard Edwards, DO

A man in a white shirt and tie with a stethoscope around his neck.

Dr. Richard Edwards brought with him more than 7 years of in-hospital training experience when he recently relocated from Tampa to our community. His dedication to the practice of medicine is evident in his academic background, which includes a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Florida and further studies at the prestigious Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Edwards honed his medical skills during his residency in Family Medicine at Ocala Regional Medical Center, where he gained valuable hands-on experience and expertise. Outside of his medical practice, his passion for martial arts and golf has always been a driving force in his life, shaping his holistic approach to patient care.

Dr. Sher's passion: Why?

I have experience in both the outpatient general practitioner setting and as the physician you see in the hospital. While working outside the hospital, I was typically allotted only 15 minutes per patient. This was hardly enough time to assess their blood pressure logs, conduct a thorough physical exam, provide preventative care, or discuss more than one health concern. Often, patients needed to schedule a second appointment to address all their needs.

Conversely, some patients didn't need to miss half a day of work or school for a 'simple visit' that could have been handled over a phone call. I know firsthand that making time for two visits to address all my personal needs would be challenging. Similarly, during my time in hospital settings, I observed many patients who might not have needed hospital care if their general practitioners had been afforded more time to properly examine and listen to them.

Many patients leave the hospital without a comprehensive workup because they can't afford to miss work or school. This reality was alarming to me. We are often so busy, and the lack of convenient access to a physician can jeopardize our health. Once I became a doctor, family and friends would often call me for diagnoses. Sometimes, these were simple phone calls, as I knew my family and friends well enough to not need a physical exam; other times, I would visit their homes for evaluations. They were tempted to visit urgent care or the ER but had children who could not be left alone or simply did not have the time to spend waiting in an urgent care or ER.

I truly enjoyed being able to help anyone I could without the pressure of time constraints, which led me to ponder: how could I make this my career? After years of contemplation, I put my plan into motion to become a Concierge Physician. This role aligns with why I went to medical school—to practice medicine with compassion and foster meaningful patient-physician relationships, not to be bogged down by insurance and endless documentation. I love practicing medicine in this manner, and my patients are highly satisfied. This is the kind of physician I always aspired to be.

Exceptional Care,

No Wait

Elite Medical Concierge was established to improve the shortcomings of traditional healthcare. Our unique approach allows us to deliver exceptional care without the usual drawbacks. We cut out long waiting times, provide nearly instant access to doctors, and guarantee longer appointment durations.

We operate on a retainer fee basis and do not accept insurance for our services. This fee covers your care with us, though you'll still need insurance for labs, specialist referrals, or hospital stays. At our clinic, you'll always be seen by a physician, not a nurse practitioner or physician assistant.

You'll have direct phone access to your doctor to determine the most suitable type of visit—whether it's a phone call, FaceTime, or an in-person meeting. With a limited number of patients, we know each of our patients well, often reducing the need for in-office visits. We also provide home and office visits, ensuring you receive the care you need without interrupting your daily routine.
